Procurement Officer

Job REF No: HR 02/07/10

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the incumbent will support the function in

ensuring a timely and efficient sourcing of goods and services within the stipulated

procurement regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

§ Secretary to procurement committee

§ Alternate to secretary of tender committee

§ Contracts administration and monitoring

§ Prepare timely statutory reports

§ Preparation of management update reports

§ Address supplier requests for clarification

§ Address queries relating to procurement activities

§ Prepare suitable responses to investigation or audit queries

§ Prepare departmental strategic plans

§ Review of the procurement strategy, policy and ISO procedures

§ Participate in evaluation of tenders and proposals

§ Co-ordinate tender opening activities

§ Prepare contract variations reports

§ Monitor departmental budget

§ Recommend sourcing strategies

§ Co-ordinate development, consolidation and implementation of departmental procurement plans

§ Ensure adherence to procurement regulations and ISO procedures

§ Review procurement and quality assurance procedures and manuals

The Requirements

§ First Degree in a related field.

§ Graduate Diploma in purchase & supply

Recruitment of Procurement Officer

§ KISM practicing certificate

§ Diploma in project management (added advantage)

§ Minimum 3 years experience in supply chain management

§ 2 years experience in public procurement

§ Experience in tender and contracting

§ Experience in project management
