MTN Uganda: Head of Procurement
To be responsible for the management of the Procurement function ; compliance with the MTN Group procurement policy and proceedures, ensuring policies are upto date and communicated to all relevant parties; manage risk and cost of controls in the procurement function, generate management recommendations on procurement and advise the tender committee on technical procedural issues.
Key Tasks: Indicates those KPA’s that are essential to the position itself. These are normally specific to the incumbent, the job, and the function. 1. To develop and maintain core procurement policies and control systems. 2. To establish and maintain key supplier and customs departments and clearing Agents relations. 3. To coordinate all group/centralized procurement initiatives. 4. To oversee the Procurement , customs and clearing and warehousing functions. 5. To develop , implement and monitor warehousing workflow procedures. 6. To generate monthly status reports for the function. 7. To establish and maintain good relations within internal departments. 8. Roll out the MTN Group procurement framework to provide assurance that Procurement strategies are aligned with business objectives and consistent with applicable laws and regulations.
Bahelors Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting and Management
Experience: 5-7 years experience in procurement and warehousing management preferably in a Telecoms related industry. Operational experience within Procurement and Warehousing is required.
Knowledge: Knowledge of Financial procedures, procurement procedures etc. Knowledge of Procurement tool kit. Knowledge of Financial modelling packages. Skills / physical comptencies: Computer Skills- MS Office; Advanced Spreadsheets. Excellent Communication skills. Presentation skills Interpersonal skills. Creative eye/ Creative direction Organisational skills. Negotiation skills. Behavioural qualities: Team player, self-motivated. Results- Oriented. Ability to meet deadlines and should be organised.
