Employment in Kenya as Chief Finance Officer

Role Introduction: Our client, a leading institution in the education industry seeks to engage and hire a Chief Finance Officer professional responsible for administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the company.

Role Profile:

Reporting to the Chairman and CEO, and Board of Directors, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Establishing appropriate group financing structures required for business continuity in consultation with the Board of Directors;
  • Reviewing, enhancing, and implementing the Group financial control policies and financial strategy;
  • Reviewing, enhancing and, facilitating the implementation of the Group’s documented business processes;
  • Providing advisory support to the Group’s functional leaders on financial matters affecting company operations;
  • Providing advisory support to the Group’s functional leaders on financial matters affecting company operations;
  • Ensuring maintenance, safety and security of the Group’s financial records;
  • Supervising and ensuring efficiency in the following financial operations of the Group: Budgeting and financial planning and analysis, Capital project management, Treasury operations , External  financial assurance services , among others;
  • Acting as the primary liaison with external financiers;
  • Any other roles as assigned by the Group Chairman and CEO from time to time.

  • Excellent communicator with the ability to effectively articulate financial matters and related impact to senior leadership;

  • Have the intellectual capacity and tangible experience in financial operations (Financial Management,
  • Financial Reporting, Management of controls) and Tax Management in a group setting;
  • Ability to evolve in a continuously changing environment;
  • Team Player.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Management;
  • Full qualifications in Finance and Accounting;
  • A member of a recognized accounting professional body i.e.  ACCA, ICPAK,CPA-K;
  • Ten (10) to Fifteen (15) years’ experience of which Seven (7) should have been at a Senior Management level in a large organisation; should have experience partnering with the Executive team;
    Board Level Experience;
  • Computer literacy (MS Office, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint);
  • SAP Knowledge.
