JA Africa Job in Libreville, Gabon – Program Director

JA Africa, the Africa regional operating center for Junior Achievement Worldwide, is seeking a full time Program Directorfor its start-up operation in Gabon.
The main role of the Program Director is to establish JA Africa presence in Gabon, start program implementation within schools and among marginalized youth and develop and implement a strategic plan to expand the scope and reach of JA Africa in Gabon by the end of year one.
The position, based in Libreville, is for a one year renewable contract.
Successful candidate must be a citizen of Gabon.
The successful candidate shall have a demonstrated record of success in teacher training, volunteer leadership, corporate fundraising, program implementation, marketing and promotions, and special-events management.
A visionary self-starter, this organization’s leader must be able to work with minimal supervision in a professional environment.
Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to manage staff and multiple, critical tasks at the same time.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Registering JA Africa as a charitable, not-for-profit organization in Gabon
- Developing a five year strategic plan for the expansion of JA Gabon
- Training teachers and facilitators on the implementation of JA’s financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship programs
- Project management
- Financial management
- Personnel management
- Stakeholder relationship management (including donors, government, volunteers and NGO/CBO partners)
- A college diploma or bachelor’s degree in Business Management or Finance with at least five years, relevant post graduate community development experience.
- Relevant nonprofit management or entrepreneurship
- Fluency in English and French
