Human Resource Manager
Reports to: Directors
Location: Nairobi
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR planning and Organization Development
  • Ensure HR plans support the needs of the business but are also flexible enough to cope with changes in the organisation, as and when they occur
  • Review the organisation structure so as to have proper chain of command, job grading and increase the company’s effectiveness/ efficiency

Performance Management

  • Come up with a performance management plan with key performance indicators/performance standards for each role
  • Review performance and make necessary recommendations
  • Manage the learning and professional development of employees
  • Conduct training needs assessment and advice on necessary training’
  • Responsible for induction training of new employees
  • Post training review
Succession planning
  • Ensure that qualified persons are available to assume key managerial positions once the positions are vacant so as to help ensure a smooth transition and operational efficiency
Recruitment and Selection
  • Ensure proper job descriptions are in place
  • Prepare adverts for vacant positions, shortlist and conduct interviews as well as reference checks
  • Manage dismissals, termination, retirement procedures, redundancy procedures and resignations including exit interviews
HR Admin
  • Payroll administration
  • Attendance Management
  • Manage employee pension, medical cover and Sacco membership
  • Manage Health and safety
Qualifications (Academic and professional)
  • Master’s in Business Administration (MBA- strategic management)
  • Bachelor’s degree in HRM and or Higher National Diploma from KNEC
  • A member of IHRM
  • 5 years relevant experience of which 3 are at a HR Manager position for an SME
Knowledge and skills
  • Good understanding of the Kenyan Labour Laws

  • Superior presentation and organisation skills
Age: 35 years and above
