ACDI / VOCA Ethiopia Recruits Chief of Party
We are currently seeking a Chief of Party for an upcoming multiyear program in Ethiopia. The possible start date is July 2011, and the position is contingent upon ACDI/VOCA being awarded the program. The program’s goal is to improve smallholder incomes and nutritional status through investments in selected livestock value chains.
Responsibilities:
Provide overall leadership management and general technical direction of the entire program, ensuring an integrated vision among different components and actors, and a focus on achieving the results defined in the contract. Identify issues and risks related to program implementation in a timely manner and suggest appropriate program adjustments.
Provide quality control and ensure timeliness of all deliverables.
Serve as principal liaison with USAID staff, government and private sector institutions, and client country partners to exchange information and develop professional relationships.
Make verbal or written presentations to varied audiences.
Job Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years of overseas experience in managing and implementing livestock or agricultural development programs, including advanced ICT skills
Minimum of 10 years of supervisory work experience including direct supervision of professional and support staff on complex international development programs
Knowledge of project management, private sector development and gender mainstreaming
Prior USAID Chief of Party experience is required
Regional and/or in-country experience strongly preferred
Master’s degree in international development, livestock, agriculture, economics, or related field of study
Fluency in English is required
